  3. DOWNLOADABLE UNIT - ARM DEFENDER-NS
  4.  
  5. ARM DEFENDER-NS - UNIT DESCRIPTION
  6. The ARM Defender-NS is the naval version of the land based
  7. Defender.  The unit utilizes the same firing mechanism and 
  8. missiles of the ground based unit.  The Defender-NS requires
  9. 71 metal and 987 energy and can be built by the construction 
  10. ship.

  12. INSTALLING THE NEW UNIT
  13. After downloading the new unit, double-click to extract
  14. the unit file.  The unit file (unitname.UFO) will be
  15. placed in the c:\cavedog\Totala folder unless otherwise 
  16. specified.  The unit file must be located in the same 
  17. directory as Totala.exe.  After the unit is installed, 
  18. it will appear on the appropriate build menus the next time 
  19. the game is launched.

  21. **You must have Total Annihilation version 1.2 BETA 1 or 
  22. greater in order to use a downloaded unit.  You can download
  23. the most recent patch for Total Annihilation from 
  24. www.totalannihilation.com.**

  26. USING THE NEW UNIT
  27. After having installed v1.2 BETA 1 or greater as well as the 
  28. new unit file, the downloaded unit will be available on the 
  29. build menus in Skirmish and Multiplayer mode.  The new unit 
  30. will not be available while playing missions.

  32. When using the new unit in a multi-player game, all players
  33. must have the downloaded unit installed.  If one player
  34. does not have the new unit available to them, none of the
  35. other players will be able to use the new unit for that 
  36. multi-player game.
